ABC News: Overweight? Standing May Be Solution

So it seems that sitting down “shuts down” your body’s way to burn fat. Sounds great.

Wired has a TV show?!

Click for local listings and good times.

I never watched it before but I will give it chance.

Also check out discovery channel’s documentaries on Video games. I saw the primere episode and it talked about the origins of my favorite hobbie. It was damn good. Magnavox, Atari, Activision, Space Invaders, TETRIS, all that good stuff.

I think it’s a 3 episode thing, a new one every week on Wednesday on 8 pm and it’s re-air later in the Night.

Public Media Station

Hey people,

This is in letter format?

Ok that’s fine (Now it’s not? What’s with the question marks?)

Anyway, I just have a funny feeling that I will be watching PBS and listening to NPR more often.

Why the hell not? It’s informational and educational, it’s good stuff.

Also, I have (Okay, double spacing? You suck so hard blogger) been “procrastinating” to do any school assignments this whole week break.

Guess what?

It’s been so fantastic. Team Fortress 2 has been so much fun on the PC and I’ve been getting better slowly.

Also, the thing about time is that frankly, I find that I can’t utilize it well at all. I wake when I should be working, sleep when I should be getting up, just opposites and more opposites. (Oops no double space).

Anybody ever watch “The Amanda Show” on Nickelodeon? It was a skit show they used to air and one of those skits featured “Procrastination Girl!” Her catch phrase was something along the lines of “…. eventually!”

I’ve been applying her rhetoric to my free week in it’s entirety. Not doing work is tiring. My back starting having pain issues, and I’m getting weaker spiritually.

Now my tea is kind of cold.

It’s been a good week however. Freeze Pop has rejuvenated my feelings as of this moment. Thanks Giving is over, and I didn’t even celebrate it.

Guess I’m the only one. ;-/

An Idea of Defense

November 17, 2007

I didn’t give this whole article a read, but please click and read about it.

Why would you?

It’s because you love me.

Follow Me

I’ve been noticing lately that my first instinct is usually the correct one. No second guesses, no need for more thoughts and furthermore a need for immediate action.

Life goes at a steady pace, and I think you can agree with me, that it’s something to keep ahead of. So as to not detract from the main idea, here’s an example of my new found theory : “Go with the Nose”

You are taking a test, and you have studied the information needed the night before. You see a question that is unclear to you what the answer is. You pick one thinking that is a good guess. Here, you second guess yourself thinking you could be wrong. Now get this, you’ve already studied. Whatever is on this test, you’ve studied on. So it should be natural that your first choice is the correct choice!

Now why would that be?

Listen: You first instinct tells us that what you have vaguely remembered from last night’s studying is good enough to go on. Also, past reading would have confirmed knowing the answer, and the answer comes back in a flash of inspiration.

However, trusting your nose is not fool proof (of course not) but I like to think that a simple solution is better than wrecking time and energy on a single question.

Following the first thought can be bad, but does it not show your true character? If you know what you are doing is wrong, it is beneficial to go back and not do it at all.

Despite the difficulty, you can always fix yourself.

Now I’ve detracted from my main idea.

Generosity

November 11, 2007

Don’t you think that the general public today is kind of fucking around a bit too much?

Suicides, killings, school massacres, drunk drivings leading to run overs, rape, pedophile molestation, random shootings, drug exploitation, rampant prostitution, slavery, child labor, immigrant bashing, racism, sexism, black humor, lack of common sense in people, torture porn, bdsm, gay bashing, general discriminations, oil wars, waste of resources, ignorance of today’s problem and much more.

It is all very sad

I don’t think that I could properly talk about the above topics without making a few jokes to lighten the mood.

Is it just me, or do you also not like being yelled at? It’s sad how many of these controversial subjects lead to many violent acts. Not only is it disappointing as a supposedly “peaceful” society, it’s just..just no.

How do people live with destruction?

Is it because people themselves are destructive themselves? Nobody is perfect, that’s true.

It’s like restraint has been a victim of violence as well.

Then again, the general public blocks out all of the atrocities until it hits them to the core.

Being part of the public, myself, I like to place myself in the realm of acknowledgment, but not wanting to help the cause.

I know I use cheaply made products manufactured in the east, but I like to save money as well!

How do people deal with it?

(this was supposed to be filled with jokes, but now it’s not)

I <3 Wikipedia

Who doesn’t?

Who doesn’t love the entity that is the Mega-Walmart of the information super highway? Hell, let’s call it the ULTIMATE source of relative information.

Check it: Here is the following top 10 most visited websites on average, supplied by Alexa Web Search (which I hope is reliable) : Yahoo (?), Google, Youtube, Windows Live! , Microsoft Network, Myspace, Facebook, WIKIPEDIA, Hi5 (?!), Orkut (?!)

So as you can see, Wikipedia is ranked #8 on global hits on average a day, that’s damn impressive.

The reason I bring the wiki up is despite all the hate for it’s “anybody can change article” bullshit nonsense, it makes self-education fun! Looking up a word for it’s definition serves you it’s history, it’s external meanings and a whole assortment of things I would never have known.

Some ass-hats may screw around with a few articles to mess around with people, but Wikipedia is pretty reliable most of the time. It’s like asking a friend for information, and that you know your buddy has your back. Sometimes it’s false information, but that comes with the circumstance of finding things easy.

Wikipedia is a good pal, who knows a bunch about the world, that I will always bookmark, to see again and again.

Pretty in Red, White and Blue

November 8, 2007

Sometimes when I walk down the street, I just think to myself, “Are those real?” , “I wonder what his sexual orientation is?” , or the golden line of “That’s a weird place to put an eye”. Nowadays, I just ask myself, who is patriotic ?

Now, I live in America, the country that is now today blamed (and pretty rightfully so) on some international affairs. It may be pretty rough to stand up for a country of immigrants but as a citizen, I’m pretty much obliged to.

I would like to think I’m patriotic to an extent. I wouldn’t bet my life in a high risk combat situation seeing as I’ve been influenced and convinced that bullets only that up at the most, 10 hit points (and I refill 100 hp, with a box with a red cross on it!). I may not be convinced to an extent, that if I took a survey I would get not many patriotic votes.

It’s pretty disheartening that sometimes your friends don’t have faith in their country.

Play it loud, what’s your opinion?
